Community Leader of the Year Award

The Community Leader of the Year award was established to recognize and honor a Brevard County citizen who, like the Foundation’s mission statement, has made substantial contributions to improve and enhance public awareness and  understanding of the many and varied contributions of lawyers in our community.

2024 Community Leader of the Year:

Scott Krasny, Esq.

In 2003, Scott Krasny originated the idea of the Brevard Bar Foundation, was its founding member, and was on the original Board of Directors and its first President. Scott has been involved with numerous charitable endeavors and in 2023, Scott was awarded the Brevard County Legal Aid Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award. Twenty-one years later, Scott’s vision for the Brevard Bar Foundation has been realized with the increase in memberships including 61 lifetime members, numerous annual members, and the O. John Alpizar Endowment Fund. The Foundation’s work includes supporting Brevard County Bar Association related events as Law Day, Florida High School Mock Trial, and Brevard County Legal Aid as well as to donations to over 133 (including repeat donations and events) worthy, local charitable organizations, including the previously mentioned Brevard County Bar and Bar related events. A list of the charities to which the Foundation has donated can be found on the “Charitable Gifts” page of this website.
